Project Overview
Our team recently worked with a Strata in North Vancouver to set-up EV Charging. We started by having our Consultants visit the client's site and conducted a site assessment to determine the best location for the EV Charging.
After reviewing the site, they recommended installing Level 2 Charging stations that would provide faster charging for EVs.
Since EV Charging stations are becoming a popular amenity, we recommended installing multiple charging ports to accommodate more than one tenant at a time. We provided the strata with a proposal that included the cost of the charging station, installation, and ongoing maintenance.
The total cost of the project was estimated to be approx. $34,000.
Rebate Eligibility
We informed the client about the available rebates and incentives for EV chargers at the time. Fortunately, they were eligible for a $20,000 rebate from BC Hydro as part of their Clean BC Go Electric Program. This helped make the project more affordable and attractive for the client.
By being informed about the available rebates, they were able to take advantage of the program and reduce their overall costs.
Conclusion
The EV Charger installation was a win-win for both the client and the environment1 They received a high-quality EV charging facility for their strata while simultaneously contributed to our provinces goal in reducing carbon footprint.
The $20,000 rebate made the project more affordable for the client and helped them recoup more than half of their investment in the project.
