EV Charging is no longer just an amenity, but a necessity for your tenants. Is your property ready?
While there are many benefits, these are our top four:
Compared to traditional lighting, the lifespan of LED's is far superior and can last on average 50,000+ hours, or anywhere from 6 - 12 years before you need to replace them. (which is approx. 40 times longer than Incandescent bulbs!)
LED light bulbs use around 75-85% less electricity than incandescent bulbs, and approx. 50% less than fluorescent tubes.
LED's provide higher lumens per watt and produce more light at lower wattage levels, making them much more efficient and power-wise than filament light.
Approximately 80-90% of the total energy used to power traditional bulbs (like incandescent) is converted directly into heat.
LEDs emit almost no forward heat and don't produce any UV rays, and because they consume less power, they can operate effectively on low voltage systems which are generally much safer.
By switching to energy-efficient lighting, you will more than likely qualify for rebates and incentives to help you save on your initial investment. These programs are constantly changing & vary by province, but our team can help you easily navigate them & assist with applications!
What is an EV ready plan, what type of EV Charger should you install in your building, what rebates are available, who pays for the electricity use and how are EV Chargers installed are among the most common questions we get, so we've prepared a guide to help you get started!
Electric Vehicles are no longer a matter of if, but when. Get ahead of the curve by taking advantage of the available EV Charger rebates to help significantly reduce your upfront investment costs.
EV Charging is both a highly sought-after amenity, but also becoming a necessity for most buildings. Having an EV ready building will make your tenants happy while also increasing your property value.
ChargePoint's community charging solution comes with network services that give you the flexibility to set pricing and access control policies to promote sharing among residents and visitors.

Governments around the world are passing stricter climate change legislations and emission targets. Most notably, the Government of Canada has stated that by 2035, all new cars and light-duty trucks sold in the country will be zero-emissions. Installing EV Chargers puts you ahead of the inevitable requirements to come, and increases the value of your property.
An EV ready plan is a professional document prepared by an Electrical Contractor that includes details about how your building will provide each residential unit with at least one EV ready parking space. Strata’s or building owners that hire a Licensed Electrical Contractor or Electrical Engineer to create their EV ready plan can receive a rebate up to 75% of the costs of creating the plan, to a maximum of $3,000, while funding lasts.
Yes! There are both provincial-based programs and Canada-wide programs. The free downloadable guide on this page provides information on the EV Charger rebate programs available in British Columbia. Additionally, the government of Canada has a Zero Emission Vehicle Infrastructure Program available until 2027, with $680 million available in spending.
We can handle your entire project from start to finish. We'll start with a site visit to scope out your electrical capacity. From there, we'll create an EV-ready plan, look into the rebates available at the time, and we'll take care of finding and deploying the right contractors for your project. Once complete, our team will conduct a site inspection to ensure everything is functional, and provide training on your new charging stations.
Most EV Charger manufacturers will have the option to reserve chargers ahead of time via a smartphone app or on the spot based on real-time availability, some of which will even enforce a loitering penalty to prevent residents from staying parked long after their charge is complete.
The prevalence of Electric Vehicle Chargers are not a matter of if, but when. Like with LED lighting, this is a major shift in an established market. There will be winners and losers, and those who adopt early with a reliable market leader like ChargePoint, will surely be winners.
